Text: The required text is An Introduction to Abstract Mathematics , by Bond and Keane, published by Brooks/Cole , 1999.
Syllabus Chapters 1-5, of the text. (Mathematical reasoning, sets, functions, binary relations, the integers). If there is time we may do some of chapter 6, Infinite sets.
Grading: Homework will be assigned every day and you are expected to do it as it is assigned. There will be quizzes based on the homework. There will be 3 term tests and a final. The quizzes count for 15% of the grade, term tests 60%, and the final 25%. The final is comprehensive.
Final Exam: Wed. Jul. 30, 12:00-3:00 P.M.
