Week 2:

Due Monday, August 23: Read about all the course policies, including the grading scale and policy. Notice, in particular, that the cutoff for an A is 4.7 out of 5 points. Read chapter 1 and do all the practice problems. Check your answers.

MATH 7001 students only: begin to brainstorm ideas for your project.

Due Wednesday, August 25: Read chapter 2 through section 2.2. Do all the practice problems and check your answers. Hand in problems 2 and 3 on page 30 of the text.

Due Friday, August 27: Read chapter 2 through section 2.4. Do all the practice problems in sections 2.3 and 2.4 and check your answers. Hand in problem 10 on page 45 and problem 8 on page 52.
