Week 3:

Due Monday, August 30: Read sections 2.5 and 3.1, do the practice problems, and check the answers. Do (to be handed in on Friday 9/3): problem 4 on page 65, 66.

Due Wednesday, Sept 1: Read section 3.2, do the practice problems, and check the answers. Do (to be handed in on Friday 9/3): problem 12 on page 66 and problem 13 on page 76.

Due Friday, Sept 3: Read section 3.3, do the practice problems, and check the answers. Hand in: problem 4 on page 65, 66, problem 12 on page 66, problem 13 on page 76, and problem 7 on page 82, 83.

Week 4:

Monday, Sept 6: Labor day holiday

Due Wednesday, Sept 8: Read section 3.4, do the practice problems, and check the answers. Do (to be handed in on Friday): problems 7 and 15 on pages 92, 93.

Quiz on Friday Sept 10: the quiz will consist of problems similar to practice problems, class activity problems, and homework problems from chapter 1, chapter 2 (from section 2.2 onwards) and chapter 3 up to section 3.4. Remember that answers to the practice problems are in the book. To study for the quiz, start by doing all the practice problems and checking your answers.

Due Friday, Sept 10: Quiz. Hand in problems 7 and 15 on pages 92, 93.
