Week 15:

Due Monday, April 19: Read section 1.2 and do the practice problems. Hand in problem 16 on page 21, problem 20 on page 22, and the following problem: use standard long division to calculate 298 divided by 4 to the hundredths place, interpreting each step in terms of dividing $298 equally among 4 people.

Due Wednesday, April 21: Read section 1.3 and do the practice problems. Hand in problem problem 5 a, b, c on pages 33, 34 and problem 1 on page 54.

Week 16:

Due Monday, April 26: Nothing to hand in, but be prepared to discuss problem 9 a, b on pages 55, 56 and problem 21 on page 58 in class.

Due Wednesday, April 28: Study for the final exam by working on the problem lists below. Bring questions to class.

Thursday, April 29: last day of class. The final exam will consist of problems similar to some of the problems in the following lists: division problem list , number theory problem list (not including problems 22 - 29), statistics problem list , algebra problem list (excluding problems 31 - 33 and problems 37 - 43). Additional problem: be able to interpret each step in the long division of whole numbers in terms of dividing money that has been bundled into hundreds, tens, ones, dimes, and cents.

Final exam: 8 - 11 am, Monday, May 3rd in our usual classroom
