Due Thursday, October 6: Read section 5.1 and do the practice problems. Hand in: problems 2 and 3 on page 165.

Week 8:

Due Tuesday, October 11: Read sections 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4 and do all the practice problems. To be handed in on Thursday: Problem 7 on page 172 (I suggest reading and thinking about problem 6 first) and problem 4 on page 176.

Due Thursday, October 13: Read section 5.5 and do the practice problems. Hand in: Problem 7 on page 172 (I suggest reading and thinking about problem 6 first), problem 4 on page 176, and problem 5 on page 179.
