Week 15:

Due Tuesday, November 28 : Read sections 7.2 and 7.3 and do the practice problems. Hand in: problem 6 on page 234, problem 19 on page 255, problem 4 on page 264, and problem 5 a, b on page 277. In problem 5 b, be sure to discuss how to interpret the "bringing down" steps in the long division in terms of trading among thousands, hundreds, tens, ones, dimes, and pennies.

Due Thursday, November 30 : Read section 7.4 to page 283 and do practice problems 1 and 3 on page 285. Also do, but don't hand in: problems 1 - 6 on pages 288, 289. Math 7020 students only: projects due.

Week 16:

Due Tuesday, December 5 : If you haven't already, please go to http://eval.franklin.uga.edu to fill out your course evaluation. The math department and I appreciate your feedback! Read the rest of section 7.4 and do the rest of the practice problems for that section. Also do but don't hand in: problems 13, 19, 20, and 21. Study for the comprehensive final exam and bring questions to class.

Final exam: 3:30 - 6:30 pm, Tuesday, December 12, in our usual classroom.
