Week 3:

Due Tuesday, September 5 : Read section 3.2, do the practice problems, and check your answers. QUIZ on chapter 2. Quiz problems will be similar to homework problems (including/especially practice problems and other "don't hand in" problems) and class activity problems.

Due Thursday, September 7 : Read section 3.3, do the practice problems, and check your answers. Do but don't hand in: problems 1, 2, 8, 11, 12, 17, 19a, on pages 65, 66, and problems 1, 3, 4, 7, 12, 13 on pages 82, 83. Hand in: problems 4, 13, on pages 65, 66 and problems 5, 9 on pages 82, 83 (explain your answers briefly to these last two).

Week 4:

Due Tuesday, September 12 : Read sections 3.4 and 3.5, do the practice problems, and check your answers. Do but don't hand in: Problems 2 - 6, 13 on pages 92, 93 and problems 1 - 6 on page 102 (you may use "percent diagrams" instead of pictures). Hand in: Problems 7, 11 on page 93 and problem 7 on page 102.

MATH 7020 students only: proposals are due for your project.

Due Thursday, September 14 : Read section 4.5 and do the practice problems. Also do but don't hand in: problems 8 - 10 on page 102 (you may use "percent diagrams" instead of pictures).
