Week 3:
Due Monday, January 23: Read section 7.5 and do the practice problems (check your answers). Please hand in the problems that I had posted as due today on Wednesday instead (now posted below).
Due Wednesday, January 25: Read section 7.6 to page 306. Do practice problems 3 and 4. Hand in: problems 5, 10, and 12 on pages 298, 299 and the following problem: There are two containers, each containing a mixture of 1 cup red punch and 3 cups lemon lime soda. The first container is left as it is, but somebody adds 2 cups red punch and 2 cups lemon lime soda to the second container. Will the two punch mixtures taste the same or not? Why or why not?
Week 4:
Due Monday, January 30: Do practice problems 1 - 8 on pages 20 - 22 of the revised section 7.6 text (posted below). Check your answers on pages 23 - 30.
For completeness, here are the revised section 7.6 activities; portions we use in class will be handed out in class.
Due Wednesday, February 1: QUIZ. The quiz will consist of problems similar to assigned practice problems, homework problems, and class activity problems we have done. If you didn't get a score on your homework from Wednesday, January 25, please do the "extra" problem that is posted there (about the mixtures) and turn it in today.
