Week 15:

Due Tuesday, November 27: Read portions of section 12.6: irrationality of the square root of 2 on pages 576 - 578 and decimal representations of fractions on pages 570 - 572. Math 7035: Extra assignment 3 is due.

Due Thursday, November 29 : Field assignment due. Read the rest of section 12.6 and do the practice problems. Hand in: Problems 6, 8, and 10 on page 580.

Week 16:

Tuesday, December 4 : no class since this day has a Friday schedule

Due Thursday, December 6: Review all course material for the comprehensive final exam. Take this opportunity to pull the ideas together in your own mind and to polish ways of discussing and explaining the mathematical ideas we have studied. Bring questions and things you want to discuss to class.

Friday, December 7 : reading day
