Week 7:
Due Monday, February 19: "Low-stakes" WebCT writing problem. Go to WebCT, where you should be able to find a MATH5030 WebCT course (as of the evening of Tuesday 2/13). Go to "assignments" and do the requested writing. This writing is intended to help you prepare for the test on Thursday--writing about something is a mechanism for thinking about it. Your writing will not be graded for accuracy.
Due Tuesday, February 20: Read the rest of section 9.4. Do but don't hand in: problem 3 on page 427 and other problems to be determined. Hand in: Problems 4, 7 on pages 427, 428 and other problems to be determined.
Office hours on Wednesday 2/21 moved to 10:30 - 11:30 (room 501 Boyd).
Due Thursday, February 22: TEST on chapter 8, section 9.3, and additional material we have discussed (additional work on congruence criteria and additional work with angles, "Singapore angle problems"). The test does not include section 9.4. Test problems will be similar to class activity problems and homework problems (including "don't hand in" problems).
Week 8:
Due Tuesday, February 27: Do but don't hand in: problems 6, 10, 16 on pages 427, 429, 430. Hand in: Problems 8 a, b, c, and 14 on pages 428 -- 430.
Due Thursday, March 1: Do the practice problems for section 9.4 (I seem to have forgotten to assign these.) MATH 7030 students: please give me an update on your project. A rough draft is due April 5.
