Week 5:

Due Monday, September 15: Read sections 6.1 and 6.3 and do the exercises. Hand in problems 3 and 4 on page 404.

Due Wednesday, September 17: Read section 6.2 and do the exercises. Hand in problems 2 and 3 on page 414.

Week 6:

Due Monday, September 22: Read sections 6.5 and 6.6 and do the exercises. Study the problems in the Sections 5.5 - 5.7 problem list and the chapter 6 problem list for the midterm on Wednesday. Nothing to hand in.

Wednesday, September 24: midterm exam. The exam will consist of problems similar to those on the problem lists.
