In this class we will study the derivative and several of its applications.
Course topics include tangent lines, limits, and continuity; introduction to the
derivative; applications of the derivative; derivatives of transcendental
functions; the Mean Value Theorem and its applications; curve sketching using
the derivative; anti-derivatives.
The course material will be taken from Chapters 2-5 of Calculus with Analytic
Geometry 6e ÒEarly Transcendentals VersionsÓ (by Edwards and Penney,
Prentice Hall 2003).
