Senior Yunjiang (John) Jiang, a senior in the mathematics department at UGA, has been awarded a prestigious NSF Doctoral Fellowship. Only 28 applicants in the nation were offered such a fellowship in mathematics in 2007.
Jiang is currently studying in Utrecht (Netherlands) with a Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, one of the most distinguished scholarships in the country for undergraduates in mathematics, science and engineering. He will move next fall to Stanford for graduate studies.
There are no other applicants in 2007, 2006, and 2005, who were awarded an NSF Fellowship in ANY field while currently finishing their degree at UGA. This data can be checked at
