Suggestions for students:
A lot of the companies
that I interviewed with and especially Logicon, are more interested
in your ability to think and be taught than the specific subjects
you studied. So, in my case the fact that I did well in grad school,
and had a technical mind (math not CS) it didnt matter that I didn't
know all there was to know about computers and programming.
Advisor/Student relationship:
Maybe encourge students
to take at least one applied math course. Though, it probably doesn't
hurt if they do only take that pure stuff.
