Position:
Financial Consultant
Employer:
Public Financial Management,
Inc.
Job description:
Oversee and advise municapalities regarding the issuance of bonds.
Salary range:
45,000 - 500,000
Job satisfaction:
I am sad to report the level of math is much akin to 8th grade algrebra,
but problem solving skills are essential. Overall, I am satisfied
with the knowledge I am gaining, not satisfied with the taxes, satisfied
with the office atmosphere, not satisfied with the hours.
Suggestions for students:
Get a summer job where you interact with wealthy
people, present yourself well, and dont hesitate to ask about a
person's occupation. Showing interest in something and knowing people
gets you in. Dont lie about your experience, most places say they
want experience but typically it is preferable to hire a kid who
is educable. That is all an undergraduate degree says: I am young,
I know how to do things that have no application, but if you teach
me something I will understand it better than that loser that went
to Tech. Also, in an interview, when they ask you what your dream
job is dont tell them being a life guard so you can work on a tan.
You tell them that you want a job in whatever industry and that
you want to make as much money as possible. Ambition is important.
Nobody wants someone who lazy and settles for less.
