Job description:
Our firm is an actuarial and consulting firm specializing in health
and managed care. I assist the senior consultants with various projects
for our clients. These projects include pricing, reserving, and other
types of data analyses. I also have several of my own clients for
whom I complete projects.
Salary range:
$75,000-$85,000
Job satisfaction:
I have been very satisfied
with my job. Almost everything about the job is good. The main challenge
is time management, not only with the various projects, but also with
family and studying for actuarial exams. You have to be as structured
as possible when planning your time.

Suggestions for students:
Be persistent. Be resourceful. Use the placement services at Clark-Howell
hall. The internet definitely comes in handy.
Advisor/Student relationship:
I had Dr. Shifrin as my undergraduate advisor. No improvement needed
there! As far as the major
program goes, I would suggest one that is integrated with statistics
and risk management and insurance for an actuarial degree.
Internships:
I am not sure if my company
would offer internships. I would have to check. Please contact me
