Exams, Grades:
There will be three 75 minutes in class exams and a comprehensive Final exam. Out of the in class exams the one with the lowest score will be dropped, however the Final exam cannot be dropped. Since the exams are in class, if one is missed without prior note (and appropriate reason), it’ll be the one which is dropped. Please keep in mind the exam and quiz dates!
The maximum total points achieved
is 500 :
In class exams: 200
Homeworks : 100
Final exam : 200
The grades are the conventional A-F :
A: 440-500 points
B: 380-439 points
C: 320- 379 points
D: 260- 319 points
F: Please try to avoid it

Homeworks:
There will be a set of homework assignments for each week. These will be graded, and handed back. The homeworks will contribute 100 points toward the final grade. In addition each exam will contain one or two homework problems, and in general the problems are close to either the homework problems or to the examples discussed in class. At the beginning of each class there will be some time devoted to discuss homework problems. You are welcome to come to the office hours if you have questions.
Note: Keep in mind that the last date of dropping the course is Tuesday, March 5th !
