Spline Analysis

Abstract: Every one knows polynomial functions, rational functions, trigonometric functions, expotential functions, and logarithmic functions. What are next functions we need to know? Spline functions, piecewise defined functions are another class of functions which are popular and useful in the applications. I will explain these functions in univariate, multivariate setting and spherical setting. Some basic properties of spline functions will be discussed. Some applications will be demonstrated.
