Housing is fairly inexpensive in Athens, and can be found close to
campus. Information about on

Classified advertisements in area newspapers are a good way to
learn additional information about off campus apartments.
You can find these type of advertisements in such publications as
The Red and Black (the
campus newspaper,) Flagpole,
and the Athens Banner-Herald.
Many graduate students elect to spend at least their first year
in a residence hall. There are 17 different residence
halls on campus ranging in price from $1,388 to $1,848 per semester
depending upon the amenities you choose.
Graduate students also can apply to live in the Family
and Graduate Housing Community (with one and two bedroom
apartments at $330--$565 per month, depending on location and whether
the apartment is furnished.) Please note that family and graduate
housing apartments fill up quickly. Students interested in
these apartments should apply for housing shortly after their official

Rental costs in town are $400--$700 per month for a two-bedroom
apartment, getting cheaper the farther you are from the University.
