Assistant Professor - Limited Term

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia seeks highly qualified candidates to fill Limited Term Assistant Professor positions beginning in August 2019. Limited Term positions are similar to a postdoctoral position in that they are non-tenuretrack and involve both teaching and research. This position can be renewed annually but is anticipated to be two years in duration, with the possibility for renewal for a third year. Teaching duties are the equivalent of 3 four-hour semester long courses or 4 three-hour semester long courses per year, and will be aligned with the department’s small
class initiative at the pre-calculus and calculus level, where class size is capped at 19 students. In addition, Limited Term Assistant Professors are expected to participate in the research life of the Department, including the pursuit of an original research program. Applicants should show promise of moving toward excellence in conducting significant research in mathematics or a related area as well as moving toward the potential for high quality teaching in university mathematics classes. A Ph.D., or equivalent foreign degree, in Mathematics or a closely related field is required. Applicants are encouraged to identify a member of the current faculty with whom their research aligns. Instructor - Limited Term

The position may be renewable based upon annual performance evaluations, student demand, and instructional funding.
