Assistant Professor

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2018. Duties will consist of research and teaching in mathematics, as well as departmental service. A Ph.D., or equivalent foreign degree, in Mathematics or a closely related field is required. Successful applicants will carry outstanding credentials in mathematical research and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Lecturer

Limited Term Assistant Professor

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Georgia seeks highly qualified candidates to fill Limited Term Assistant Professor positions beginning in August 2018. These positions are similar to a postdoctoral position in that they are not tenure track and involve both teaching and research. Each position is of two years duration, with the possibility of renewal for a third year. Teaching duties are the equivalent of 4 three-hour courses per year and will be aligned with the department’s new small class initiative at the pre-calculus and calculus level. In addition, Limited Term Assistant Professors are expected to participate in the research life of the Department, including the pursuit of an original research program. Applicants must exhibit potential for significant research and high quality teaching. A Ph.D., or equivalent foreign degree, in Mathematics or a closely related field is required.
