Any student absent for more than 5 days (class + recitation) may be withdrawn with a WF for non-attendance. Any student desiring to withdraw from the course should

Make-up Policies WebCT Requirements Recitation Sessions |
As a general rule I do not accept late homework, nor do I give make-up quizzes or exams. Quizzes will be announced so there is no need for one to arbitrarily miss class on quiz days. If you have a legitimate emergency that prohibits you from being in class for an extended period of time, please contact the Office of Student Affairs. Student Affairs can verify your situation and will provide your professors with this verification. You are responsible for regularly checking the WebCT version of our class for calendar, mail and discussion updates. I will post the topics I cover during each class period and the corresponding homework assignments on the calendar. Be sure to click on the calendar date to enlarge the window to view all my entries. Please use the WebCT mail tool within our course to communicate with me, and I will use the same to communicate with the class. I will post any quiz keys, test keys, handouts, etc., in folders on home page. I do have a way of tracking student use of my WebCT course, so please make sure you follow my instructions and check the course for updates at least 3 times per week. Each MWF class is issued either a Tuesday or a Thursday recitation session. Your recitation instructor will be responsible for covering a few predetermined examples as well as being available to answer questions from your homework assignments. An absence in recitation will count as an absence in the class. You are to stay the full time (50 minutes) recitation is to be held. These sessions are for your benefit. Please be respectful and turn off and put away your cell phones during recitation. |

Academic Honesty |
All students are responsible for maintaining the highest
standards of honesty and integrity in every phase of their academic careers.
The penalties for academic dishonesty are severe and ignorance of UGA policy
is NOT an acceptable defense. Students should pay particular attention to
sections 5 and 7 of the academic honesty statement found at the link below.
www.uga.edu/ovpi/academic_honesty/culture_honesty.htm |
Classroom Etiquette Please TURN OFF and PUT AWAY your cell phone prior to the beginning of class. The distractions of these have become quite annoying, and I will no longer tolerate such in my classroom.
