Prerequisites:                Basic knowledge of computer use.

 

 

Course Objectives:       To understand the concepts of function, limits, tangent line, derivatives. To introduce Newton’s Method and

to develop basic programming skills using Maple and to understand the basics of programming in general.

 

 

Grading:                       Your final grade will be computed from the grades earned on the labs and attendance will be taken into account. Late work will not be accepted, especially if grading of the labs has already begun.

 

 

Attendance:                  You are expected to attend ALL lab sessions as attendance will be taken.

 

 

Academic Honesty:       You are required to adhere to the academic honesty policies of the University of Georgia. In addition, you are to write up your labs individually. You are NOT to print out someone else’s lab and add your name to it. You may work with others while in the lab, but your work should not be a carbon copy of another student’s work. Students who do not adhere to these policies will be reported to the relevant administrative bodies.
