Textbook: Calculus, Early Transcendentals Version, 6th edition, Henry Edwards and David Penney, 2002.
Syllabus: We will cover sections 2.1-2.4, 3.1-3.9, 4.1-4.7 and 5.1-5.2.
Test: Test 1, June 25
Test 2, July 14
Test 3, July 30
Any absence on a test day will result in a test grade of 0. It will be possible to make up for a missed test only if documented justification for the absence is provided.
Homework and Quizzes:
Homework will be assigned regularly. There will be approximately 13
unannounced quizzes. The problems on the quizzes will be similar to those
assigned for homework. No make up quizzes will be given. The three lowest quiz
score will be dropped.
Grading: Tests: 60 % (20 % each)
Homework and Quizzes: 15%
Final: 25%
Course grading: A: 90%-100%; B: 80%-89%; C: 70%-79%; D: 60%-69%; F: less than 60%.
Academic Honesty: All students are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of honesty and integrity in every phase of their academic careers. The penalties for academic dishonesty are severe and ignorance is not an acceptable defense.
