Topics to be covered: Systems of linear equations, Matrix Algebra, Vector Spaces, Projections and Orthogonality, Determinants, Eigenvalues and eigenvectors, Linear Transformations.

Tests, homework, and grading
There will be 3 tests and a final exam. Homework will be assigned every day ; I will check from time to time that you have done it, but not grade it for correctness. Homework counts for 5% of the grade.
In addition, I plan to give some special assignments to be turned in for grading.
There will be 3 term tests.
The total term grade (special assignments plus term tests ) counts for 70% of the grade.
The final will be comprehensive and counts for 25% of the grade.

If it is to your advantage, your lowest test grade will be dropped and replaced by the grade on your final.

Final exam
Thursday, August 4 , Noon-3:00 P.M.
