OBJECTIVE: The primary goal of this course is for you to understand and know how to work with the derivative.  You should know how to take the derivative of polynomials, trig functions, exponential/logarithmic functions, and combinations of these.  You should also know how to use the derivative to solve optimization problems, related rates, and sketch curves.

WEBCT: I have the class on WEBCT.  Please refer to this site for announcements and updates.  I will also post your grades on this website as I get them in.

COREQUISITE: You must alsoenroll in MATH 2200L (Calculus Lab).  However, if you withdraw from the lab, you MUST also withdraw from the class.

HOMEWORK/QUIZZES: I will frequently assign homework problems from the textbook., which  will not always be picked up.  It is your responsibility to keep up with the homework.  There will be a quiz given every Thursday , which will consist of 1-3 problems from the homework.  There will NOT be any make-up quizzes given.

TESTS:  There will be 3 in-class tests given throughout the semester.  If there is some reason you cannot take the test on the scheduled date, you must let me know as soon as possible.  The tentative dates for the tests:
