Grading Policy
quizzes / homework 3 tests Final exam
15% 20% each 25%
Grade Scale is usual: A: >=90; B: 80-89.5;
C: 70-79.5; D: 60-69.5; F if the average is less than 60. The boundary
for A never change, for other grades it may be sometimes lower.
In addition to average the following rule is applied to the grade:
For A, final exam can not be lower than 80; for B final exam can
not be lower than 70 ...
Class Policies
The UGA Academic Honesty Policy will be followed closely. Three
missed classes may result in a withdrawal with a WF. There will
be no make-ups for missed quizzes and exams.
Homework and Quizzes
HW will be assigned almost every day. We will discuss some of the
problems on the days prior to the quiz days and one-three problems
from current HW will be on the quiz. The lowest quiz score will
be dropped.
Make-up Policy
No make-up for quizzes. No make up for tests, but, in case of an
excused and officially verified absence, the average of the other
two tests will be counted instead of the missed test.
Calculators
Calculator is not required for this class. If you want to use a
calculator only non-symbolic calculators are allowed. (all non graphing
calculators, TI-82 through TI-86 are allowed, for other brands ask
instructor).

A lot of communication concerning this course will be done through
the official web page, which you should see when you log in to myWebCT
at http://webct.uga.edu. Some of the goodies you will find there
are: your grades, homeworks, calendar with dates of exams, mail,
discussion group and syllabus.
