Course Objective
To learn about indefinite and definite integrals and their applications: to computing areas and volumes, and to problems from physics.
Class Policies
The UGA Academic Honesty Policy will be followed closely. Four missed classes may result in a withdrawal with a WF. There will be no make-ups for missed quizzes and exams.
Exams and Quizzes
There will be several quizzes, three midterm exams and a comprehensive final exam. Here is the formula I will use to compute your final grade:
Quizzes 3 midterm exams Final exam
15% 20% each 25%

On the web page you will find a grade calculator to help you run through hypothetical scenarios.

Calculators
Any non-symbolic calculators (i.e. non-graphing calculators, TI-86 and below, hp39g and below) are allowed. Consult me if in doubt.
Homework and Quizzes
Homework will be assigned almost every day. Homeworks will not be picked up but some of the problems will be discussed in class. Quizzes will consist of one to three problems from the previous homeworks. The lowest quiz score will be dropped, to provide a cushion for sick days, broken car days, family emergencies etc.
Make-up Policy
No make-up for quizzes. No make up for tests, but, in case of an excused and officially verified absence, the average of the other two tests will be counted instead of the missed test.
Web Page
A lot of communication concerning this course will be done through the official web page, which you should see when you log in to myWebCT at http://webct.uga.edu. Some of the goodies you will find there are: your grades, grade calculator, homeworks, calendar with dates of exams, study aides, mail, discussion group and syllabus.
