* You have to register for each test on line
1 to 5 days priory the test (see the instruction on
the home
page of
MATH 1113: http://www.math.uga.edu/1113/1113home.htm). First come, first served.
** Final Exam Reservations: April 15 – 19. On line. First come, first served.
If your final exam score is higher than your lowest regular test score, the lowest one will be replaced with the final exam score.
You have 12 to 15 quizzes given at random. The worst third of quizzes will be disregarded. A taken quiz brings at least 5 points. For missed quiz, you get 0. Those zeros will not be disregarded. Quizzes constitute up to 7.5% of the final grade.
There are 6 home works. Homework assignments for each test are listed in http://www.math.uga.edu/1113/Syllabus.htm. The dead line for returning homework is the next class after the corresponding test. Homework constitutes up to 7.5% of the final grade.
The total grade for the course is the best one of two ways of calculating it:
1.
Total_1 =
[0.05*(grade for test 0)+0.1*(sum of grades for test 1to 6) + 0.20*(grade of
Final)] /0.85
2.
Total_2
=0.05*(grade for test 0)+ 0.1*(sum of grades for test 1to 6)+ 0.20*(grade of
Final)+
+ 0.075*(average of
quizzes + average of homework) + bonus
where bonus = 3 if you participated in all 12 quizzes
and submitted all 6 home works, and 0
otherwise.
Attendance of classes is strongly recommended. You get zero for the quizzes you missed. The zeros will be included in your total score.
All students are responsible for maintaining the highest standards of honesty and integrity in every phase of their academic careers. The penalties for academic dishonesty are severe and ignorance is not an acceptable defense.
