From the preface to the text:  "In addition to developing the students' intuition about the beautiful concepts of calculus, ... to persuade them that precision and rigor are neither deterrents to intuition, nor ends in themselves, but the natural medium in which to formulate and think about mathematical questions."

    Exams

The final exam was held Noon - 3 PM  on Monday December 13;  it was comprehensive.  The median score was 144.

Notes from a review session are posted at http://www.math.uga.edu/~azoff/courses/2400fnlrev1.pdf

A course summary and links to earlier study guides can be found at http://www.math.uga.edu/~azoff/courses/2400fnlguide.html

A few practice problems from Chapters 8 and 12 were put in bold font.

A brief trig review, (courtesy of Dr. Shifrin, with pictures and color!) can be found at http://www.math.uga.edu/~azoff/courses/TrigRev.pdf

There were three hour exams during the term.

The third hour test was held Thursday November 18.  It concentrated on Chapters 7 and 11. The median score (before corrections) was 78.
You could have gotten up to 5 points added to your score by doing test corrections: correct any problem on which you missed more than one point, work the bonus problem, and work whichever part of Problem 4 (A or B) you omitted on the test.
A study guide for the test can be found at http://www.math.uga.edu/~azoff/courses/2400t3guide.pdf
Notes from a review session can be found at http://www.math.uga.edu/~azoff/courses/2400t3rev.pdf
Practice problems in bold type could also be used to help study for the test.

The second hour test was be held on Tuesday, October 19.  Itl covered Chapters 5, 6, 9, and 10.
Study suggestions for the test can be found at http://www.math.uga.edu/~azoff/courses/t2prep.pdf
Bolded practice problems could also be used to help study for the test.

The first hour exam was held on Thursday, September 16.  It covered Chapters 1 through 4 of Spivak, but none of the appendices. The median score (before corrections) was 70.
A practice test was posted at at http://www.math.uga.edu/~azoff/courses/practest.pdf.  This test was given several years ago; median percentages on each problem are indicated.
Several practice problems from Assignments 1 through 3 were put in boldface font.  These were especially recommended to help prepare for the test.

Notes to the first three assignments can be found at http://www.math.uga.edu/~azoff/courses/hwnotes.pdf.
