Analytic Geometry and Calculus

Office hours: T Th 2-4, MWF 1-2:30 (on MWF I am usually in my office at these times; the T Th office hours are ironclad). Extra office hours will always be available upon request.

Final exam: Monday, May 7, 3:30-6:30 pm.
Book: Calculus, Early Transcendentals Version, 6th edition, Edwards and Penney.
Syllabus: Most of Chapters 2, 3, and 4, as well as sections 5.1, 5.2, and possibly 8.3.
Homework and tests: The homework will not be graded, but it is extremely difficult to succeed in this class if you don't do it. The assignments will be posted on this webpage. There will be three tests, given in class. See the schedule below for dates. There will also be short weekly quizzes, given in class. The quiz problems will be taken directly from the homework. I'll drop your three lowest quiz grades at the end of the semester.
The grading will break down as follows:
Quizzes 15%
Tests 20% each
Final 25%
The final will be cumulative, but with emphasis on the material not covered by the previous tests.

The review session is in 302 Boyd, Thursday May 3, 1-3 pm.
