Russ Webb
Position:
Graduate student (Ph.D. program) in Electrical Engineering
Employer:
Cornell University
Job description:
My research is in micromechanics;
specifically the integration of electronics with micromechanics and
the resulting non-linear MEMS systems.
Job satisfaction:
The program I am in at Cornell provides a
high degree of research freedom to graduate students. It is largely
due to that freedom to explore an interesting field that I am very
satisfied with my research position.
Employment history:
Very limited since I've been in graduate
school since leaving UGA.
Suggestions for students:
Follow your interests.
Advisor/Student relationship:
A required (or strongly
encouraged) senior project would be valuable. Perhaps team projects
could be allowed and a class could meet to discuss related topics
(student could give lectures on what they've learned).
