the sloppy person who wrote the answer key
neglected to use the reduced
echelon form he had so carefully computed.
The correct first components of the four basis vectors are -2, -3, 1,
and 2. Resultingly, the coefficients of x1 in the equations
in part b should be -2, -3, 1, and 2.
Last day of classes: Tuesday, December 8, which will be a Friday
schedule.
Final Exam: Thursday, December 10, 12:00–3:00 pm.
