Week 9:

Due Monday, October 17: Hand in: problems 4 and 5 on page 626.

Due Wednesday, October 19: Read section 13.5 and do the practice problems. Hand in the following problems from the Activity Manual (not the textbook): problems 3, 4 on pages 469, 470.

Due Friday, October 21: Do but don't hand in: Find at least two functions that arise from everyday contexts. Describe the function in words, making clear what the "input" and "output" are. Sketch a (possible) graph for each function and show a table if appropriate. Write an equation or formula for the function if appropriate.

Week 10:

Due Monday, October 24: QUIZ on sections 13.3 - 13.5, including material we discussed that was not in the book.

Due Wednesday, October 26: Read section 13.6 and do the practice problems. Hand in: problem 4 on page 645.
