Week 1:

Friday, August 17:

Due Monday, August 20: Read sections 1.1 and 1.2.

Due Wednesday, August 22: Do the exercises in section 1.2 (don't hand in). Read the solutions in the answer section only after you have worked the exercises yourself.

Due Friday, August 24: (to be checked) Hand in section 1.2 problems # 7 and 11, pages 16, 17. In problem 7, do not be concerned if you cannot solve the problem completely. Use problem solving strategies to make progress. Explain clearly what your conclusions are and why your conclusions are valid.

Week 2:

Due Monday, August 27: Read sections 2.1 and 2.2 and do all exercises in these sections (don't hand in). Read the solutions in the answer section only after you have worked the exercises yourself. Check out the website

Due Wednesday, August 29: Read section 2.3 and do all the exercises. Hand in section 2.3 problem # 4, pages 63 - 64 (to be checked).
