Week 13:

Due Monday, November 12: Read section 4.8 and do the exercises.

Due Wednesday, November 14: (to be scored) Hand in section 4.7 problem 1, page 269 - 270. Very brief explanations will do. Also hand in section 4.8 problem 1, page 286. You may combine parts (a) and (b). Part (b) does not require an explanation.

Due Friday, November 16: Read section 4.9 and do the exercises.

Change in calculation of your grade:rather than calculate separate grades for checked and scored homeworks, and have each count for 15% of your course grade, I will join all homeworks together, drop your lowest two scores, and use the average of all homework scores for 30% of your course grade.

Week 14:

Due Monday, November 19: (to be scored) Hand in section 4.8 problem #3, page 286 and section 4.9 problem # 3 page 298.
