Week 7:

Due Monday, October 1: (to be checked) This writing assignment will enable you to compare your knowledge before and after we study the topic of multiplication. Write a page (or more, if you like) on your thoughts about the topic of multiplication. What is multiplication? What is it for? Do not consult sources for information: write your own ideas as they come to mind. This assignment will not be graded for correctness. Save this assignment when you get it back as you will be asked to compare it to your understanding of multiplication later in the semester.

Due Wednesday, October 3: Read section 3.3 and do all the exercises.

Due Friday, October 5: (to be scored) Hand in section 3.3 problem # 3, page 168.

Week 8:

Due Monday, October 8: Read sections 3.4 and 3.5 and do all the exercises.

Due Wednesday, October 10: (to be scored) Hand in section 3.5 problem # 9, page 185.

Due Friday, October 12: Read section 3.6 and do all the exercises.
