Week 7:

Due Monday, October 1: Read section 2.1.

Due Wednesday, October 3: (to be checked) Hand in section 1.7 problem # 5, page 95 and section 2.1 problem # 3, page 107. For problem 3, use a "crazy" shape, in other words, a shape that is completely asymmetrical. All UCNS computers should have GSP installed on them, so you may wish to use GSP to do this assignment. If so, hand in a print out of some of your sketches in addition to written answers to the questions.

Due Friday, October 5: Do the exercises for section 2.1. Read section 2.2 and do all the exercises.

New tardiness policy: due to excessive tardiness, I feel that I must instate a tardiness policy to protect our learning environment. 2 tardies will now count as an absence, and may therefore affect your grade. I will post a sign-in sheet on the door, which will be replaced with a tardy sheet after the start of class. Please sign in at the door as you come to class.

Week 8:

Due Monday, October 8:

Due Wednesday, October 10: (to be scored) Hand in section 2.2 problems # 2, 5, page 126. You may either draw your designs by hand, draw your designs with GSP, or use paper cutouts to create your designs. In any case, please hand in a clear explanation for why your designs have the required symmetries.

Due Friday, October 12: Start working on the essay due Monday.
