Week 9:

Due Monday, October 15: (to be scored) Many people find that writing about something helps them to understand it better. This write to learn assignment is intended to help you clarify and deepen your understanding of the material in sections 2.1 and 2.2. Write a 2 - 4 page essay on some aspect of the relationship between the transformations we have studied (rotations, reflections, and translations) and the concept of symmetry. Your score will be based on the extent to which your writing is clear and accurate, and shows depth of thought and depth of analysis.

Due Wednesday, October 17: Read section 2.3 and do all the exercises. Read section 2.4 and do exercises 1 - 3.

Due Friday, October 19: (to be scored) Hand in section 2.3 problem # 1, page 133, and section 2.4 problem # 1, page 153.

Due Monday, October 22: Do the rest of the section 2.4 exercises.

Wednesday, October 24: (to be scored) Hand in section 2.4 problems # 3, 4. Do not use the "set up a proportion" method.
