Week 13:

Due Monday, April 8: Read sections 3.1 and 3.2 and do the exercises.

Due Wednesday, April 10: Hand in (to be scored): section 3.2 problems 2 and 3, pages 83, 84. You will need internet access to do problem 3. (This assignment is different than what I had said in class on 4/3: problem 1 is now due on Monday, April 15 instead of on 4/10, and I added problem 3.)

Week 14:

Due Monday, April 15: Hand in (to be scored): section 3.2 problem 1, page 83. Your activity can be for any grade level. You may create an entirely new activity (be creative!), or your activity can be based on one you have seen, used, or done before, but if so, you should modify it significantly in some way. Include a list of questions that you could ask the children. Your list of questions should cover all three levels described in the Fraces Curcio handout: reading the data, reading between the data, and reading beyond the data.

Due Wednesday, April 17: (to receive a "checked" score) Prepare a short presentation to the class based on your field experience assignment. Your presentation should be no more than 10 minutes long.

Choose one of the following to discuss:

1) Discuss something about mathematics teaching or learning that you learned from your field experience and that you think will be helpful to your classmates.

OR

2) Pose a problem or question about mathematics teaching or learning from your field experience that you would like your classmates to help you think about.
