Flexing closed hyperbolic manifolds

Abstract: A hyperbolic structure on a closed 3-manifold is a special case of a real projective structure. We will discuss techniques for showing that sometimes this hyperbolic structure admits nontrivial real projective deformations -exactly when it does seems very mysterious. We sketch some consequences.
