On sequences of log canonical thresholds

Abstract: Log canonical thresholds are invariants of singularities that turned out to be very useful in birational geometry. Motivated by an outstanding conjecture of Shokurov, I will discuss some properties of the limit points of log canonical thresholds of divisors on smooth varieties. This is based on joint work with Tommaso de Fernex.
