2) There are 2 major highways connected to Athens from Atlanta. The University of Georgia is located in the downtown of Athens. Check out the driving direction to Athens.
2.1) When you leave Atlanta via I-85, you need to be on North I-85 towards Greensville. After leaving Atlanta about 10 miles, you will see a connection to Athens which is a state highway 316. Keep driving on highway 316 which will lead you to Downtown Athens. You will be on West Broad Street/Atlanta HWY. Pass Holiday Inn Express and then turn right after the Holiday Inn into S. Lumpkin Street. Pass four traffic lights and turn left at the fifth traffic light. Then turn right at the first traffic lights and go around the Colesium to find the Carlton Parking Deck on the right.
2.2) If you leave Atlanta via I-20, you need to be on I-20 East. After leave Atlanta about 10 miles on I-20, you need to exist I-20 on the right to get onto a state highway 138. The 138 will lead you to join I-78. Along I-78, you need to exit on the right to join the state highway 316. Keep driving on highway 316 which leads you to Downtown Athens. You will be on West Broad Street/Atlanta HWY. Pass Holiday Inn Express and then turn right after the Holiday Inn into S. Lumpkin Street. Pass four traffic lights and turn left at the fifth traffic light. Then turn right at the first traffic lights and go around the Colesium to find the Carlton Parking Deck on the right.
