Math 5001: Arithmetic and Problem Solving

Emilie Wiesner, Fall 2006
Math 5001 is a math content course for future elementary school teachers. Our goals are to gain a deep and flexible understanding of arithmetic, to investigate the arithmetic procedures we use and why they work, to strengthen problem-solving skills, and to communicate mathematics effectively.
