Teaching Experience
- 2001-2003: VIGRE (Vertical Integration in Research and Education) postdoctoral researcher, Department of Mathematics, University of Georgia
Taught first and third semester Calculus. Taught Geometry for Middle School Teachers
and Algebra for Middle School Teachers, two content courses for mathematics education majors.
- 1997-2001: Instructor, Department of Mathematics, Columbia University
Taught first and second semesters of Calculus. Taught Intermediate Algebra, a precalculus course designed
for students who are familiar with basic mathematics but not prepared for the traditional precalculus course.
- Summer 1999: VIGRE mentor, Department of Mathematics, Columbia University
Developed and led an undergraduate summer research program in knot theory,
funded by the department's VIGRE grant and using the computer algebra system Mathematica.
Project was based on the paper Parametrizations of holonomic and Legendrian knots. Responsibilities included
presenting daily lectures, preparing students to give formal mathematics talks,
and advising students in their research.
- 1996-1999: Teaching Assistant, Columbia University
Assisted with all semesters of Calculus. Taught recitation sections for first and second semester Calculus using the computer algebra system Mathematica. Graded exams and homeworks.
