I am a Limited Term Instructor at University of Georgia, Department of Mathematics. Previously, I was Research Scholar at Georgia Tech School of Mathematics with  International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship I received from TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). My mentor was John Etnyre.  I received my Ph.D. in 2017 from UMN under the supervision of Anar Akhmedov. My research interests are low-…
I am a Lecturer in the Mathematics department. I teach a lot of lower-level courses, but I occasionally work with 3000-level and 4000-level classes. Some of my favorite things to teach are MATH 2260 (Calculus II) and MATH 3200 (Intro to Higher Math). I have taught a formal set theory course as MATH 4950, and I hope to offer that course again occasionally. Before being hired by UGA, I received a Doctorate of Arts (D.A.) degree from Carnegie…
I am a graduate of Georgia Southern University (BS 2012, MS 2016). While my current research interests lie in elementary, analytic, and combinatorial number theory, I had a series of successful projects reviewing and writing mathematical models of infectious diseases. The computational skills I developed during this time I now utilize to develop and prove conjectures in number theory. I am a former secondary mathematics teacher and am…
Hi! My name is David Plaxco. I'm happy to be a lecturer in the UGA mathematics department. My background is in Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education (RUME), and I have recently developed an interest in Recreational Mathematics and Mathematical Art. I've been teaching mathematics in some capacity since 2007, beginning as a middle school teacher in Muscle Shoals, AL. Most recently, before moving to UGA, I was an associate professor at…
