Dr. Thomas Melistas

Graduation year: 2021

Thesis: Large Scale Geometry of Overtwisted Contact Forms

Advisor: Michael Usher

Current position: Postdoctoral researcher at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology

My doctoral research was on the fields of Symplectic and Contact Geometry. I studied the space of dynamics on a contact manifold under the assumption of overtwistedness. Currently, I work as a researcher at Technion implementing ideas and tools, such as persistent homology, which I studied and used during my thesis in other frameworks within the Symplectic and Contact context.
